Anderson stated that if the pond to the south were moved down to the border, everything could be done that had been talked about. A resident asked how steep the grade was around the pond at the southern end ofthe park. The developer responded that a small child could.crawl out. A resident expressed concern as to how the pond would look.. The developer stated that it.would be dry except when it was raining. It would.be.maintained and would be a grassy area. Dick Ernst stated there is a pond there now and the drainage is adequate. With a new-sewer pipe to handle the extra water, it will be adequate. A resident was concerned that the pond at the southern end of the property would be too close to the baseball and play area. Would like to see a 'fence around the pond. The developer stated he prefers not to fence the pond because • if a child did get in he'may not be able to getout. Johnson asked if there were any thoughts to making a perman- ent pond. Anderson stated there would be no advantage to it. Benke stated that since this was a new proposal, it should go back to the Council. Dahl stated the new plan looks.like a good compromise. The developer has done a good job. Motion by Dahl, seconded by Van Hatten; that the Park Board accept the current plan with the pond on the southern end moved down to the border. Van.Hatten made an ammendment to the motion that the northern area be part of the park. Johnson seconded. Main motion as ammended passed. VI. Old Business A. Comprehensive Park Plan • Dahl felt a special meeting for Comprehensive Park Plan should be set. Olson and Grimshaw'agreed. March 26th,.8:15 p.m. at City Hall Council Chambers was set for the Comprehensive Park Plan and Goal Setting meeting.
