Council of the City of New Brighton does hereby <br />ordain as follows: <br />Section 1. Chapter 19 of the New Brighton City Code is <br />hereby amended by adding thereto Article III, Long Lake <br />Surface Use which .shall read as follows: <br />I <br />Sec. 19-30. Definitions. <br />For the purposes of this Chapter, the following words <br />and phrases shall have the meaning respectively ascribed <br />to them: <br />7 <br />~ Wake: Is any disturbance of the water caused by a <br />~ motor.-powered watercraft operating in excess.. of c.l.osed <br />throttle or in excess of 5 MPH. <br />Z No Wake: ~~Is the disturbance in the water, if any, <br />caused by non-motorized watercraft or motorized <br />~; watercraft operating at closed throttle. <br />~I Watercraft: <br />ii <br />f; <br />Motorized Vehicle: <br />;~ <br />#.Sec. 19-31. No Wake Zones. <br />E~ <br />!~ a. A no wake zone is hereby established on the sur- <br />~~ face of Long Lake to cover all waters within 100 <br />~~ feet of the shoreline except as modified ~y author- <br />~; <br />jy ized bouys. <br />i~ <br />b. A no wake zone is established over the entire lake. <br />a, when the water elevation of .the lake is 866 feet, <br />~~ or more above mean sea level. <br />t' <br />c. A no wake zone is established over the entire lake <br />from 10:00 p.m. on Friday of each weekend through <br />7:00 a.m. on Monday; except during the hours of <br />1:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. on each Saturday-and <br />{1 1:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. on each Sunday. <br /><< <br />it d. A no wake z-one is established over the entire lake <br />7} on all legal holidays commencing at 10:00 p.m. on <br />it the evening preceding the observed holiday and <br />~' terminating at 7:00 a.m. on the day following the <br />~{ <br />I~ observed holiday; except that period of time be- <br />} holida1c00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on the observed <br />,~ y <br />~~Sec. 19-32. Prohibited Wake. <br />~' No person shall operate amotor-powered watercraft in <br />jithe no wake zone 'in such a manner as will create awake.` <br />~~ <br />Sec. 19-3'3.
