-7-
Fitt ...have not been resolved. Public owns park land abbutting on the lake
...
We can not hear him:
The public owns all the shoreline on, the shore along the gre there. as
instance
distinct from private ownership a.nd the public in this se~tse are the citizens
of New Brighton and have an equal right to the use of the lake. In other words
they would have to be treated equally. whether you own property abutting on
the lake or not.
Thankyou
JS OK are there further questions from the council of the staff.
OK then I think, Councilman Werdoushegg.
FW: You address yourself regarding the ah tent camping area - this is a:etually
not Long Lake Park ,.this is the Rush Lake Park .
MA This would be on the County's portion of the Park. but we're talking about
a joint development, we're talking about a joint plan that goes to Metro Council
for their approval. So when we addresss one portion of the, one side of the
tracks or the other side of the tracks, we're still coming to the Council fore
approval of the entire plan, not just one side or the other.
FW Now, I have a further question, ah there's been quite a bit of talk regard-
ing the Hipp farm house. That farm house is about 80, 90 years old and I was
told that it actually has historic significance, and I see that there is no
mention in that proposal as to yet any ~~~~~~ kin of for that farm
house. Has there been any thought given by the Park Board or by staff to the
possible joint development of the Hipp Farm house as a historicy~,~ farm house..
a
Similar to the Gibb's Farm museum or something. This being located in ~~g~ park
.would certainly have significance and I'm quite sure that the Mn historical
Society would be quite interested in ah considering something. of ..this-nature.
There are not ghat many great farm houses in the Metro area. remaining in
such good state of repair as the Hipp. Farm house.
