17
Thank you
JS Thank you very much.
Applause
JS Any other comments, questions, yes.
My name is Roger Wilson, I live at 1698 14th Ave. N.W.. I guess one o£ the
things that ah we ~~ have touched on briefly that I'd like to bring out
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ in more de~.il here, is the fact that a,h if we do have and
make public with the concept plan, if we do approve that, with a launch
on that lake , I understand right now we're gonna have a problem with
safety or at least a possible problem with safety and I think we all have to
ah be aware of that. Now for e:tample in the North part of the Lake right
now there's so much sludge, there's so much junk on the bottom of the lake
that in order to get from the north to the south part of the north part of
the lake two boats passing each other going opposite directions have a hard
time without grounding. That's a fact. Any of you who have been on the lake
and have been in a boat would know that. I ahave seen many boasts who have
been grounded on the North part of the lake. And people have gotten out
of their boasts and water has been only up to less than their knees. Now, on
the South part of the Lake it's getting bad also So far we don't have any
funds to get that lake Ilea-red up. Now I think we're missing the point if
we don't you know address ourselves to this one specific problem in addition
to the other ~~c~-thatls-- one's and that's a fsa.fety problem.
The point being that if you pass that concept plan with the boat launch on
it chances are those things have tendency to paaa-right-on-go go right on and
pass right on through , then we're going to have havoc, we're gonna. somebody
possbily being maimed or killed on that lake. Then we're gonna have problems.
Now I don't want to be responsible for that a.nd I don't think anyone here in
this room wants to be responsible for that. There's already access for
boats from the public on that lake right now. What I'm saying is on the
Concept Plan leave the boat launch off m£ it because there's already access
there. Leave the access there that's already they because we haven't had
a.ny problems in the past but do not abut a boat launch on the concept plan
until it ha.s been studied as to whether or not a boat launch should ~
there from the stand point of public safety and at the time that study is
made, it should be presented with somebody with the knowledge to the City
Coucnil in writing stating what, fahether a boat launch should be there number
one and if it whould, what conditions should b~ attributed to that boat 7.aunch.
I have one other comment. I would ~~~~ like to know, of the questionnaire
that wa.s sent out, of those 412 people, is that the number, okay, I would like
to know the results, and I would like to have those read into the minutes
I would like to know the number of people who voted yes and no to the different
questions that were asked on that questionnaire, by number, by category.
Tha, k you.
Applauce
JS Are you, NLr. Wilson, are you referring to this tabulation.
RW The one that was sent out that had all of the picnic areas, the boats
launch and the whole thik g, yes.
JS Is this the tablulation of the results? (~ka.y, this is the Yark Board's
tabulation of the results and the Council does have a cope and yes tha-t is
pax t of the
