We have seen the procedure that was used by the Metro Council in reviewing the Anoka Plan and having that Plan put into action ah here in the last I believe two months. I/rr. W, Mayor Brommander~and a few others, especially the people from up in itoundsview were very sinm~~elfn meeting with the T~Ietro Council to have them review that plan before they adopted it. They had a deadline, they met the deadline. They immediately said that the Anoka Plan ,~~ ~~ would be initiated , it would beome an immediate intermediate I wonder if we're not doing the same thing here on our level. Maybe we should be more careful. Let's not adopt a plan that's not infavor and then try to review it or change it later. Applause JS Yes I'm Kathleen Bona and my address is 703 2nd Ave. N.W. in New Brighton and I'd like to make the-eemment-that- some comments as a resident of another part of the City who doesn't live on the lake or right near the lake as to what we'd like to see in the park. I'd like to comment on some of the things that you've proposed here. I don t think we should have a canoe rental but I think that people who have canoes should be able to put them in the lake. I don't think we should offer a. canoe rental at a beach. I also, kayats or possibly fishing boats with ~~ restricted outboard motor power, I'm not sure about fishing boats, but they might be considered. I don't like a.ll of the pavillions you have marked on the map. I think a couple of the over head shelters like they use at Snaii Lake are nice for large family picnics. They seem to work well. And I don't have a big objection to ball parks, ball fields, and I don't see where a couple of them would be a. problem either. In connection with the picnic areas the overnight camping, no. The reasons that were stated by someone else here wrre wvery good ones, and I don't think we should have over night camping um the Southern part of the lake is very suitable for water skiing and ~ as~ ~~y~aresident,~ who doesn't live on the lake, there'd be nothing that I'd like better than to put a boat on the lake. Howver, I've seen what happens when you open up a public boat la-unch and it's very very dangerous, because there a,re too many people that try to get on the lake, because there are too few of them, and the drivers get reckless and I think it would cause a.ll kinds of problems and it would be better {dust to restrict the wa.terskiing or the large motor boats from the lake. The bike paths, I really like that idea. That's very good and I hope that you proceed with those ideas. And the beach, yes. We want a, beach. I don~t know if we need a bath house or a concession stand but it's nice to have .......,.. (end of tape]
