<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />December 9, 1986 <br /> <br />Public Hearing, continued <br /> <br />In response to Brandt's question, Dice indicated there would be a <br />variety of non-alcoholic beverages on the menu. <br /> <br />As there were no further questions or comments, Williams moved, <br />seconded by Schmidt, to CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Gunderman, to ISSUE AN ON-SALE <br />INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE TO JAMES L. STUART (DBA DON'T PASS <br />BAR) UPON APPROVAL OF THE INSURANCE COVERAGE BY THE CITY <br />ATTORNEY. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Ed Taylor, whose item was on the consent agenda, thanked the <br />council for their support in making Phase II of the Rush Lake <br />Business Park a reality. <br /> <br />Locke briefly reviewed the staff report concerning the ordinance <br />establishing an Economic Development Commission. <br /> <br />In accordance with Brandt's request, for the second reading of <br />the ordinance Locke will have the proposed document modified by <br />inserting gender-free references. <br /> <br />As there were no further questions or comments, Williams moved, <br />seconded by Schmidt, to CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Brandt, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />HOLD THE FIRST READING OF THE ORDINANCE AMENDING CERTAIN SECTIONS <br />OF CHAPTER 11, ARTICLE IV, OF THE NEW BRIGHTON CITY CODE, WHICH <br />WILL CREATE AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Locke introduced John Stengline, Director of Marketing for Bel <br />Air Builders. <br /> <br />Stengline reviewed the project, showed elevations, stated there <br />would be one- and two-bedroom apartments in the two 29-unit <br />apartment buildings, each of which will have a community room and <br />underground parking. <br /> <br />In response to Gunderman's question, Stengline stated the rents <br />have yet to be determined, but they are looking at between $625 <br />and $650 for the two-bedroom units. <br /> <br />Page Three <br /> <br />Rush Lake <br />Business Park <br /> <br />Economic Develop- <br />ment Commission <br />Report 86-309 <br />7:51-7:54pm <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Update: Belair <br />Companies in <br />TID #6 <br />Report 86-310 <br />
