(2) <br />Dahl moved and Smith seconded that the Park Board consider de- <br />veloping a philosophy for consideration at the next meeting <br />concerning community schools. She suggested the following <br />definition of community schoolo Maximum coordination and use <br />of existing and future. community facilities and programs <br />(schools, parks, etc.) for all residents of the school community <br />with minimum duplication of financing, personnel and planning. <br />Motion carries. <br />Smith also requested that Mr. Conover give consideration to use <br />of secondary schools in the pilot program, rather than elementary <br />schools. He stated that elementary schools are not desirable <br />recreational facilities as compared to secondary schools. .The <br />Board requested that school and village representatives meet to <br />develop a skeletal outline of the community school program and <br />its operation. <br />Park Plan <br />The Park Board discussed the rough draft outline of Phase II - <br />Park Acquisition and Development Program. However, <br />it was felt that regardless of the outcome of those negotiations <br />~.t was still from 6 - 7 years before the Village would have access <br />to the bulk of the site.
