County have jointly requested designa- <br />tion by the Metropolitan Council of thse lands as a regional park, <br />and <br />WIiERLA5 the Metropolitan Council has designated funds to <br />develop the park; and <br />W1iER1sAS the park will provide services and facilities to the <br />citizens cif the City which are. equivalent qr superior to those <br />which could be provided by the City and at, lesser cost to City <br />residents, and <br />WHEREAS the City, therefore, does noa have a need to maintain <br />ownership of the park land adjacent to Lony Lake, and <br />WHEREAS the City desires to facilitate the timely develop- <br />ment of this park, and <br />I <br />WHEREAS the County has received funds from the Metropolitan <br />Council to reimburse the Gity for original acquisition costs <br />incurred for the park lands, and <br />WIiERr:AS the City has requested that it also be reimbursed <br />for interest costs incurred, and <br />[JIII:RL:AS the Metropolitan Council has determined that reim- <br />bursement of interest costs is not in accord with its policies, <br />and <br />WttER1sAS the City will continue to seek reimbursement by the <br />r°ietr~politan Council of additional interest, stewardship, and <br />related loyal costs; <br />NOW '1'1lEREFORE BE IT RL•'SOLVEll that the New Brighton City Counc: <br />hereby authorizes the transfer of title of these lands commonly <br />known as Long Lake Park to Ramsey County, for use as a regional <br />park, for the consideration of $698,101.00. <br />Bl: IT f•'U12`i'HER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Manager are <br />authorized and directed to execute all deeds and other documents <br />necessary to accomplish said sale. <br />Adopted this day of ~ , 1982. <br />~' <br />A'I"1'1?57' <br />Gregory B.
