May 5, 1982 Park Board Minutes <br />.Page. 5 <br />Hu.ddleston said the last site was located at Meadow Woad Park. <br />Before the site could be used Dick Ernst wou d have to remove <br />some-soil from thearea.. - <br />Huddleston said the soil there looks bad. There :is not clot <br />of room but would hold several plots. People from the_New <br />Brighton Coop are interested in that site. <br />Van Hatters asked. if .the garden plots would interfere-with the' <br />dirt removal. Is there any other land that is: available. <br />Gunderman asked about. land at Sunny Square. <br />Anderson said-.that is where the play equipment. is going.. <br />Hogan siad there is a plot owned by the seniors home on Palmer <br />Drive. Believe that land was specifically designated for <br />garden plots. <br />Johnson said the south end. of Pike .Lake is open <br />Anderson told Huddleston that Jim Winkles had a map of public <br />lands in New Brighton. <br />Gunderman said there is a site up by the water tower by Salem <br />Covenant Church. <br />Van Hatters said. there is a site at the end of 1st Ave. .It's <br />on a dead end street. <br />The Park Board recommended that Meadow.. Wood not be used as a <br />garden site, but that other non-park sites within the city be <br />considered. <br />VT. Old Business <br />None <br />VTI. Announcements <br />A. Metro Council Consideration - Long Lake Master Plan, June 7, 1982. <br />Anderson said the meeting is at 3:00 p.m, They will be hearing <br />discussion from the public. <br />B. Joint Meeting with Planning Commission, May 18, 3982, 7:30 <br />p.m. (Re: Comprehensive Plan) <br />.Anderson said the City Council wants a hearing on the Compre- <br />hensive Park Plan to give residents a chance to see it. <br />Gunderman recommended that the date be changed because of the <br />conflict with the school board meeting. <br />
