Features and how to pay for it have not been addressed closely enough. Certain. things that are in question, Too big? 'Too small? Is this what we want? Located in New Brighton and funded however, but some- one has to pay. The only funding that is viable is from the county. Is that really the case? Will the money dry up by July of this year? If you .don't like wildlife, etc., you should negotiate these facilities. Proposals are still being made, look at the ones made here tonight. Tax increment could be used to pay off bonds and build park. These. are alternatives. Gunderman asked if there was any more public comment. No one responded, public discussion was closed... Dahl stated she is basically in agreement.. with the plan and supports the procedures of the plan.. Happy with input of the residents on and off the lake. Feel committee members all had equal part in giving input in the plan. Plan. is not perfect but it is a good plan. Picnic parking spaces could be scaled down. Concerned with the 1982 CIP. Was heavy on utilities. Feel more comfortable with the CTP revisions. Would like .the wording changed regarding the 1984 termination date to be more agreeable. Overall very pleased with the plan, feel a good job has been done. Olson said Dahl hit on all her points. Concerned with the large group. picnic area,. parking could be scaled down. In agreement with the plan but get the termination date removed. Van Hatten stated he appreciated very much the comments of-the residents here tonight.. Agree that people in surrounding areas aren't different from. us. We will use this facility most often. Fels that if the people were counted that use the facility, those from the immediate area would be the greatest-users. Think others should be. welcomed in our parks as we are in theirs.. Don't like-1984 termination date. Solberg said don' feel park could be .developed locally, Met Council Master Plan hits all concerns, Boat launch and picnic area could be scaled down. Have done alot of homework, want people: to know that we do care. Grimshaw stated he supports the plan. Concerned with large group picnic parking lot. Feels elimination of overflow parking lot would address this concern. Support the plan. Hogan said that Most of his concerns had been spelled out be the Park Board. One ,point in the master plan gives capacities. These are based on the park being full. Don't feel this will happen more than once in a.10 year .period. Think it is unclear as to the numbers using the park. Like to have concerns addressed. The 1984. termination date should be xemoved and scale down the large group picnic parking area.
