January 5, 1983 Park Board Minutes Page 3 <br />A resident. was concerned about people pzrking on the cul de sac <br />• to get to the park. <br />Anderson said there are no leagues or hockey in the park, can't <br />see there would be a problem. <br />Olson asked if the park would be signed. <br />Anderson said most of the parks have two signs. One would be on <br />29th and one on the shopping center .side. <br />Gunderman thanked Blomquist for the work he had done in making <br />this park possible.. <br />The residents expressed their thanks for the park and feel the <br />plan is excellent. <br />A resident asked what day the planting day would be. <br />Anderson said sometime in April. Like to get the kids involved <br />in planting because it helps them feel they have a part in the <br />park and cuts back in vandalism. <br />Anderson told residents that 100 tons of compost sewage will be <br />applied to the entire park and mixed with the soil immediately. <br />There is a possibility of an odor. <br />. Motion by Olson, seconded by Carlson, to approve the Meadow Wood <br />Park plan as shown. Motion carried. <br />A resident asked if the tot lot would be done about mid summer. <br />Anderson said mid August. It will be done in stages. <br />B. Selection of "Volunteer" for Long Lake Park Advisory Committee <br />Anderson said the board .would be seven members; 4 from Ramsey <br />County, 3 from New Brighton.. The chair would be from Ramsey County. <br />The tree from New Brighton would be 1 Park Board member, l Long Lake <br />homeowner and l resident at large. <br />The Advisory Board will work with Ken Simons and Bernie Edmonds from <br />Ramsey County and Maurie. The group will be active the first stage, <br />meeting probably once a month. <br />Carlson, Olson, Dahl and Johnson expressed interest. <br />Gunderman and Johnson were interested in being Ramsey County repre- <br />sentativer <br />Johnson said he would talk to Salverda about being a rep. for <br />Ramsey County. <br /> <br />
