Exercise Programs
In 1981 there was a dramatic increase because we offered more choices •
in the dance/exercise classes. Aerobic Dancing and Jazz Exercise
type classes were real popular nation wide. In 1982 the newness of
exercise programs diminished as evident with a decrease in participants.
In 1983 there was again an increase because we added a class which
the instructor had a following of regular students. But-in 1984
that instructor went through Community Education Department
rather than ours so we see the number drop back down. Otherwise,.
exercise classes in the pool and other classes have remained fairly
stable. We have also noted that within a year the winter and spring
exercise classes are better attended than the summer and fall offerings.
Days Away Trips
Trips. are done 3-4 times a year and planned jointly with St. Anthony
Community Services. i4e try to keep cost of each trip around $20.
At this time the number. of trips seems to accomodate the resident's
needs. In 1983 we added an extra trip (5 trips) which caused the increase
in numbers of participants in 1983. For '1984 we again had an extra
trip, plus each of the trips were more popular.
_. _
Adult Class Actiyitie s
This is-for those that don't fit anywhere else. In .past years this
included bridge. For 1984 the only program that went was Color
Analysis so those numbers are indicated. It is a popular enough prog~
that we will continue to .offer is seasonally.
Senior Activities
All senior activities have increased in 1984 because we have expanded
our offerings. See attached sheet for more. specific details on what
has been offered. Having the ,'expanded staff time, this category wi l
continue to increase as the demands will begin to be more fully met.
•
