City's Mission Statement Anderson said the City Manager has asked .:for the Park Board's response to the Statement.: -Dahl had a question on the meaning of the word "objectives", how do you measure effectiveness of city service? Anderson said by the response on the city survey .that was sent out.- It may be done on aregular basis (about every 5 years) and may use the same survey. The result was the people thought .the city was doing a good job. Johnson felt .the. survey should be done about every 2 years rather than 5. Dahl .agreed because when something is requested and .the xesults are seen,. they feel something positive about the City. It may be good to give the survey to some of the same people but also good to get some other people's responses. Johnson felt there could have been. something in "Goals" more specific for the Liquor Sure. Dahl felt it interesting that the City wants to see an excellent school system when directly the. City has no control over-that. What is an excellent school system? Anderson explained that when people move here they want a good school system. It is in the City's interest to have a good school district. Through better communication with the school district, that may help. Dahl asked if there shouldn't be communication between the other communities specifically relating to the school interests. Anderson said it is not likely to get five-suburbs to agree on anything. Van Hatten said, he liked the previous attempt of the school district and other communities getting together. Anderson s~~d he did too but it didn't work well. Dahl agreed - just sharing information is good. Dahl asked if there is a good range of housing in New Brighton Janecek said yes but looking more for the seniors. Olson also stated she liked the ..idea of the city working with the schools for cooperative programs.
