December 4, 1985 Park Board Minutes Page 2 A status report from PCA shows from water studies that some of New Brighton's old wells are starting to show signs of contamination (1 part per billion) though the contamination is not of great concern now, it does. add some urgency for a new well. honeywell is adding sample wells to pinpoint sources of contamination. The hope is that within the next several months they can zero in on the sources of the problem. Gunderman made the comment that he thought the Planning Commission made a good decision on rejecting the waste plant. Van Hatten disagreed. He saw the Red Wing facility. and was impressed with it. B. Long .Lake Advisory Committee Light attendance for the meetings was discussed. Johnson said there was talk of the Irondale cross country ski team making trails at Long Lake Park. Anderson said they will be set tomorrow. Johnson asked if they could set trails at the golf course. Anderson said they could but he doesn't think they would be interested in doing so. Johnson asked if the city could use their equipment to do so. Anderson said that's a possibility. Benke said he had requests for ski trails at Long Lake Park and also for a skating rink on Long Lake. Anderson said the rink won't be possible this year. Seward jokingly said he had a request for a bridge from 14th Ave. NW to Long Lake Park. Gunderman said he is serious about the bridge. It would be foolish if we don't look into it. Anderson said Ramsey County could be asked to contribute toward it.
