November 6, 1985 Park Board Meeting
Page 3
Anderson commented that Les Proper, City Engineer, stated
that if the well was put on that piece of .property, some
of the cost might be borne by the Water Dept.
Eichers asked if there was anything on the site now and
if the site were buildable.
Anderson said there is a small house on the property that
the owner wants to eventually move.
Anderson said we could use the extra area to move the hockey
rink so we will not lose the ice. Could put more lighting
up. Right now lights are only on one side.
Johnson said he guessed the property would be appraised at
about $30,000-$35,000, not the $80,000 he is asking.
Anderson said the City could condemn the property if they
wanted to.
Johnson said he always likes to see park land added but
since there is no quorum, the decision could not be made
tonight. Johnson said the idea of condemning the property
is interesting.
Anderson said this item can be held over until December.
C. South Hansen Parking Lot
Anderson said the City is in the talking stage with the
owner of the pumkin patch. Bel Air is going to develop it.
Johnson did not like to see the size of the parking lot
slimmed down. The area may be needed in the future.
Anderson said there are more projects than we have money
to accomplish them, we need to cut somewhere.. Held over
to December.
D. Citizen Survey
Gary Berger, Administrative Assistant, had sent a copy of
a survey(to go out to residents) to the Park Board to look
over and make additions or corrections.
Eichers commented it would be nice to find out how many
people have actually attended a City Council meeting.
VI.
