It was asked if the city ever considered purchasing water from another nearby city. Proper said yes but mixing ground water and well water can cause some real problems. Cost was also extreme. Old wells are being tested every other week. New wells have been tested every 6 weeks. The City will be getting 1.2 million dollars in grant money from the Federal government. MOTION BY JOHNSON, SECONDED BY CARLSON, THAT TF A WELL MUST BE LOCATED AT HIDDEN OAKS PARK, THAT IT NOT BE COMBINED WITH AND IRON REMOVAL FACILITY AT THAT SITE. MOTION CARRIED. C. 1986-1990 CIP The Park Board looked at the Golf Course and Parks CIP infor- mation that was handed out. Golf Course One green is in the budget (operating) $3,000. Would Tike to double the size of the green. Have added to almost every green. Want to do things to improve the slowness on the course. Green fee is $4.00 now, $4.50 next year. MOTION BY CARLSON, SECONDED BY BLOMQUIST, TO APPROVE THE GOLF COURSE CIP AS PROPOSED. MOTION CARRIED. Parks Anderson said he tried to level out some of the peaks in the CIP. The Park Board felt an '86 concept plan should be done for Vets for general strategy. The lighted athletic field at Irandale is dead for now. Need to ask Freedom residents if they are infavor of lights. Have two lighted fields in the budget but don't know where the lights will go. Any fields at Long Lake are out - Met Council says no way. Putting a bridge over Hipps point to Long Lake was discussed. It would be a walking bridge. The bridge would provide Long Lake residents access to the park. Should be discussed at the neighborhood paxk meeting for Freedom.
