July 10, 1985 Park Board Minutes <br />Page 3 <br />Dan said they would like to have the wood play structure. <br />Blomquist asked if the swings will ga. <br />Gunderman said they would be modified and used in the structure. <br />Anderson said he would like to get some playground reps. in to <br />look at the area. They will do design free for this type of <br />project. Would like to keep the swings, but alot could be added. <br />Benke asked .how much money is in the matching fund. <br />Anderson said $10,000. <br />Blomquist. asked if we are setting a president for other schools. <br />Anderson said no. It's the only school where the play equipment <br />for school and park is combined. <br />Benke asked if there was anyone else interested in the matching <br />funds. <br />Anderson said no - a small portion was used for Vets (St. John's) <br />and another portion for same other project. <br />Benke asked what the time table was. <br />Gunderman said he was hoping for the fall but early winter would <br />be more realistic. <br />Benke said the Council may want to have alittle more info on what <br />is proposed. <br />Anderson said some kind of approval is necessary to go ahead. <br />Eichers asked what the likelihood of the school staying open was. <br />Gunderman said it looks positive according to demographics. Enroll- <br />ment has been up. <br />Seward asked how much we are willing to commit. <br />Anderson said $9,000 would be his suggestion. <br />MOTION BY SEWARD, SECONDED BY BLOMQUIST, TO COMMIT UP TO $9,000 <br />OF THE MATCHING FUND FOR THE JOINT PIKE LAKE/FREEDOM PARK PLAY <br />EQUIPMENT. <br />Will have this item on the Council agenda for July 23rd . John <br />Seward and Trish Blomquist will be present. <br />MOTION CARRIED. <br />
