This report will be limited <br />to acquisition and development issues. The legal and environmental issues' <br />will be covered in a separate report by the County Attorneys Office. <br />Significant Dates <br />1974 The Metropolitan Council designated Lona Lake-Rush Lake as <br />a Regional Park and provided Ramsey County an acquisition <br />grant to begin acquisition of Rush Lake. <br />1974-78 Ramsey County acquired 95 acres at Rush Lake for 5738,057 <br />(Metre funds). <br />4-26-82 Ramsey County Board of Commissioners approved the Long Lake <br />Regional Park Master Plan (Resolution #82-412). <br />8-23-82 Ramsey County Board of Commissioners approved the purchase <br />of 96 acres from the City of New Brighton for 5742,356 (Metro <br />funds) (Resolution X82-716). <br />8-13-84 County Board authorized the Parks and Recreation Department <br />to request bids for site wnrk and beach b+.~ilding (Resolution <br />#84-610). <br />9-17-84 County Board approved contract with Arcon for site work for <br />31,190,000 (Metro funds) (Resolution #84-682). The site work <br />includes: entrance road, parking lots, site grading, sewer <br />and water, and seeding. <br />,Tiny 9, 198 <br />._ -7~ <br />__ ' <br />10-15-84 County Board approved contract with E.D.S. for construction <br />of beach building for ;344,300 (P-1etro funds) (Resolution <br />#84-753). <br />
