In 1984, the Minnesota Department <br />of Transportation issued an order far the crossing. <br />This order required the Railroad to allow the crossing. <br />The order also specified the crossing signal would <br />have to be constructed and be in operation prior to <br />public use of the park. <br />On February 25, 1985, the County Board approved a <br />request to the Metropolitan Council to provide funds <br />for the construction of the signal. Subsequently, <br />funding was approved by Metro.
