We <br />try to repair it immediately so the vandals cannot get <br />satisfaction from it. <br />Seward said he would like to see the glass ban <br />in effect immediately. <br />MOTION BY OLSON, SECONDED BY SEWARD, THAT THERE BE NO <br />CHANGES TO THE CURFEW HOURS IN THE PARKS. MOTION <br />CARRIED. <br />MOTION BY OLSON, SECONDED BY SEWARD, TO <br />RECOMMEND A BAN ON GLASS CONTAINERS IN THE PARK <br />BEGINNING IMMEDIATELY. <br />Carlson asked if that includes thermos jugs, etc. or <br />is the intent pop and beer bottles. <br />Olson said beer and pop bottles. <br />Van Hatten said that would eliminate glass cassorole <br />dishes too. <br />Olson said we could word it glass beverage containers. <br />Van Hatten said he feels we are jumping the gun. <br />Let's look at the other ban for a year and see how <br />that one goes. <br />Anderson said we could unofficially, on permits, tell <br />people no glass in the parks - as a condition of <br />playing or using the park. If we don't have to do it <br />as an ordinance. <br />Van Hatten said it should be stated as glass beverage <br />containers. <br />Carlson said he didn't think a Police Officer would <br />even consider stopping an adult carrying a casserole <br />dish. <br />MOTION VOTE WAS 3-3; 1 ABSTAINED. MOTION DID NOT <br />PASS. <br />Olson felt Van Hatten should not be allowed to vote. <br />There was some discussion about the vote. <br />Van Hatten stated the motion failed. <br />
