August 6, 1986 Park Board Minutes
Page 2
Anderson said he is recommending that in 1989 the Long
Lake Road crossing be deleted. Checked with Hennepin
County who is putting a tunnel in and the cost for the
tunnel alone will be $175,000. Also the DOT will be
widening the Long Lake Road & 694 bridge in 1988 or 89.
A crossing will be put in when that project is done so
there will be an access to the south Pike Lake Trail.
Johnson asked if there will be any offset revenue from the.
beach.
Anderson said those numbers are included in that money.
Eichers asked if the bonds included principal and interest.
Anderson said yes.
Williams suggested delaying some of the 1987 and '88 to
later years.
Anderson said what we have done with capital projects this
year is asked for internal loans. These numbers on this
form will not be what the Council sees on Monday.
Williams said it will still include $180,900 in 1988.
Anderson said yes.
Anderson said the Council may ask that the items be prioritized.
Johnson was curious if the amount we budgeted for lighted
athletic field may be too high. Mounds-View is doing __
their field for $50,000.
Anderson said ours also includes irrigation.
Carlson said he believed the financing for Mounds View
lights was to be funded by the Boosters Club.
Anderson said he thinks the figure in the budget is close.
Johnson asked if all the funds from the liquor store are
committed.
Anderson said $100,000.
Johnson said he didn`t want to be in a position of asking for
levy money.
Anderson said you better get used. to it or start trimming
the budget.
Eichers asked what happens to the Golf Course money?
Anderson said we are still paying off loans. There won't be
any net for two to three years. Still buying equipment and
paying Ramsey County.
