Ave. <br />Johnson said there are other alternatives. ,Recommend having <br />a door to door poll on how people feel about closing 3rd Ave. <br />Seward said he had approached St. John's. about 2 months ago <br />regarding the possibility of them donating some money for <br />play equipment. At that time Sister Gwendolin was in favor <br />of closing 3rd Ave. <br />Resident,Jerry Bensing, said he believes that opinion has <br />changed. <br />Olson asked how much traffic 3rd Ave. gets. <br />Van. Hatten said he has lived in the area about 20 years and <br />said he uses 3rd Ave. about twice a month on the average but <br />does not recall meeting or seeing another car while on it. <br />Olson said sometimes people are more concerned with the change <br />just because it is a change rather than any logical reason.. <br />Rose asked if 3rd Ave. remained, where would the bleachers <br />go• <br />They would have to all be on one side. <br />Johnson felt taking a poll ,would be the best way to handle this. <br />Nelson wondered how long it takes people to get out of the parking <br />lot at St. John's <br />Van Hatten said no matter what was done there wouldn't be any <br />less accesses. <br />Seward said the park is so small - it needs to be expanded. <br />Van Hatten was surprised that the residents were not concerned <br />..about-the money it would cost to upgrade 3rd Ave, if it remained <br />open. <br />
