Vets Meeting .(Continued) Page 4
Resident(St. John's) - Just don't get carried away.
Resident(St. John's) - The main reason St. John's wants the ball •
field moved is so that the parking will not be in the church lot.
Resident ~-Would prefer that the street was vacated and not closed..
When it is vacated the residents retain half if closed the City gets
it X11. Zf it is vacated St. John's could retain part of it for parking.
Van Hatten - No, have never heard of that.
Resident - Yes, that's what .Les Proper said.
Resident - Les said people could use the parking lot to get to the street.
Resident - Once the road is closed, can't bring it back.
Resident - Street is falling apart now.
Midness - The street will not get any more traffic.
Nelson - Is the church parking lot over its .capacity on Sundays?
Residents - Yes
Resident - The northeast area will remain residential and to the
north a higher density.
Midness - If traffic is a concern, closing 3rd Avenue will not matter.
Resident - Would. 9th Ave. ever be closed.
Midness - No
Resident - What-plan does the Park Board prefer?
Johnson - We have just seen #4 for the first time tonight. -The City
Council suggested #5 be done up without the ballfield. Plan #4 is
a combination of the Park Board likes from the other plans.
Resident - #1 is the only one without 3rd Ave. closed. Have no
problem with #4 if 3rd Ave. was not closed.
Resident- Is the park used more by adults or children?
Nelson - Used for adult softball, and St. John's School. Not alot
of T-Ball or youth games there.
Resident -'Would you have an objection to moving the adult teams
to another field.
Nelson - Don't have enough large fields to move .them to.
Resident - The teams that play there now are fine, they have no •
problems.
Nelson - If we want adult teams to play there we don't want to have
liability concerns, we want to do the field right.
