* The Fire Department was rated as "Excellent" or "Good" by <br />92.7$ of the respondents, and the Police Department was as <br />such by 87.5$ of the respondents. Of those respondents who <br />were involved in situations with the Fire and Police De- <br />partments, 81$ and 82$, respectively, 87.5$ of the respon- <br />dents. Question 12. <br />* Animal control, street patching and repair, and the city' <br />sidewalk system received the highest frequency. of "Poor° <br />ratings, 11,1$, 8.2$, and 13.6$, respectively; yet over 50$ <br />of the respondents rated all three services "Excellent" or <br />"Good." Question 12. <br />* Generally, at least. 50$ or more of the respondents indica- <br />sated the service level for the services listed in the sur- <br />vey should be maintained; most of .the services had a sig- <br />nificant percentage of respondents indicating an increase <br />in service level. Question 13. <br />* 48.60 of the respondents felt they would "Rarely" be a vic- <br />tim of criminal physical assault going out alone at night <br />(after after 10 p.m.) in their neighborhood, while 54.0 <br />of the respondents felt that their personal property could <br />"Sometimes" be the target of a crime. Questions 15 and 16. <br />* 59.2% of the respondents indicated. they had taken part in <br />the city's recreation programs, while only 16.7$ indicated. <br />they would like ,to see programs. added. 70.8$ rated the <br />~,.. quality of parks as "Excellent." or "Good." 36.5$ of the <br />resondents preferred to have existing parks improved while <br />44.8$ preferred to have existing parks maintained. Only. <br />3.1$ of the respondents wanted the. parks system decreased <br />and only 4.9$ wanted new parks. Questions 18, 19, 22, and <br />23. <br />* 96.2% of the respondents have heard of "IIrandywine" and <br />"New Brighton Liquors." Of those respondents, only 10.5$ <br />did .not k-now that they were owned and operated by the City <br />of New Brighton. Question 25. <br />* Only 19.40 of -the respondents knew that eleven cents of <br />every tax dollar goes to .the city..
