June 3, 1987 Park Board Minutes Page 3
Van Hatten asked what there was in 1987.
Anderson said
$80,000 Vets
$15,000 Pike Lake Trial
$ 7,.000 Hansen Trail
$10-15,000 Hansen Parking Lot
Carlson said there was no specification for where the play
equipment would go.
Anderson said that is on purpose. We have been purchasing new
equipment at the parks. Totem and Driftwood have minimal
equipment.
Johnson said that in previous years there has been the matching
grant money in the budget.
Anderson said that this year it was put in the operating
budget.
Anderson said we already used this year's. The City received
a donation from Micom of $2,500 for a fence for softball at
Sunny Square.
Johnson suggested having an explanation after each budget item.
Anderson said there would be a work sheet done for the July
meeting.
Van Hatten asked about the tennis courts at Driftwood or
Hansen.
Anderson said the Park Board had mentioned previously that
.since one court was removed at Hansen there may be demand for
one more. If the area around Driftwood is developed as
residential we could put the court at Driftwood but if the
Driftwood area is commercial, then we could put the court at
Hansen.
Van Hatten asked if the trial .system for 1991 is to connect to
the new park.
Anderson said that the council has had someone come up with a
plan for the Old Hwy. 8 corridor from County Road D to Hwy. 96.
We should have a condition that along with roads and
development,-that we add a path for bicycles and people. Don't
know when it will happen but want this in when it does.
