HEAD'S APPROVAL: <br />MANAGER'S REVIEW/RECOMMENDATION: <br />No comments to supplement this report Comments attached <br />EXPLANATION: <br />The purpose of this report is to bring forth final recommendations of the committee structured for reviewing and <br />considering municipal advisory committee reorganizational issues. The final recommendations are attached. <br />It is being requested that the Council formally consider and adopt the recommendations as suggested by this <br />collaborative effort. Furthermore, the Council is requested to direct staff to proceed in making the appropriate <br />ordinance changes as well as to develop a transitional plan for enacting the recommended reorganizational issues <br />in time for the Council appointment process to occyr late this year. The recommended date for implementing <br />these changes is January 1, 1995. <br />While the process is not completed and issues will arise which will need further consideration, the process <br />followed and the cooperation received from the various committee chairs was very impressive. Working <br />collectively, the end result of this review process will be that the City of New Brighton's municipal government <br />will continue to be run in a very effective and participatory style which utilizes the dedicated involvement of its <br />residents through its advisory committees in shaping municipal policy. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />MOTION TO APPROVE THE ATTACHED RECOMMENDATIONS AS IT PERTAINS TO <br />REORGANIZATION OF MUNICIPAL ADVISORY COMMITTEES AND DIRECTING STAFF TO <br />PROCEED IN DEVELOPING APPROPRIATE ORDINANCE MODIFICATION TO INCORPORATE <br />SUCH CHANGES. <br />~~ tthew S.
