We request your consideration of funds for the following changes: 1. Add access and playground opportunities for disabled persons in compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act. 2. Add a new playstructure and several other pieces. 3. Improve the drainage of the playground area. 4. Add resilient surface materials to comply with the current safety guidelines. The breakdown of proposed costs is as follows: Equipment $23,000 Installation 5,000 Surface Improvements (estimate) 17,000 TOTAL 45,000 We are requesting $15,000 as the city's contribution towards this project. The remaining $30,000 will be financed by the school district and the PTA. We are attempting to raise half of this at Pike Lake. Our plans are to order the equipment by the middle of May so it is installed and the ground work is finished by September 1, 1994. Your support of this project will help provide recreation for all our residents, including disabled persons. It will also upgrade an area that has not been improved in 8 years. We appreciate the partnership we have had with the city for past playground improvements. Thank you for your consideration of this request.
