f~, .
.' y Little Lakes Little League-Fields Committee
The result of these improvements would be to generate three high quality fields in New Brighton within four
years. These three fields would allow for geographical distribution in the City, Sunnyside north, Pike Lake
central aid Totem Pole in the south as well as identifying a field for each age distribution. The improvements
proposed for Totem Pole field are significant and complement others happening around the northern metro area.
The City of Vadnais Heights is installing several new basebalUsoftball fields in the next 2-3 years. Some of these
are proposed to have grass infields and will hopefully be designated for Little League play. LLLL will make a
proposal to the City of Shoreview within the next few months for a major improvement plan at Sitzer Park which
will include lights, scoreboards and grass infields for that two-field complex. Arden Hills has received a fields
development proposal that proposes a grass infield for the 11-12 year olds which will be very similar to that
proposed for Totem Pole field. As it currently stands, no participant in LLLL plays a regular season game on an
official little league field. With the proposed changes in New Brighton and the surrounding areas, we hope to
have at least 5 grass infields within 2 years and significant improvements in all fields, top to bottom, within four
years.
As always, LLLL wishes to work with the Cities to ensure the safety of the children at the ballpark and to provide
for them the highest quality facilities and experience. With these upgrades, Little Lakes Little League wants to
make it very clear that we consider the funds used to purchase the additional fencing as gifts to the City of New
Brighton and as such LLLL bears no responsiblity for their maintenence or use. LLLL will have no ownership of
the materials and therefore does not expect exclusive access to the fields that are proposed to be upgraded. Like
most fields in the LLLL system, we understand that these fields are multi-purpose and a variety of leagues and
organizations share in their use. If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please contact me
at your convenience at 624-2712
