October 6, 1993 Park Board Minutes
Olson asked for suggestions for a park name.
Residents came up with the names Innsbruck Park, Linden Park, Bent
Tree Park.
Olson suggested Pecks Woods. It keeps the historic aspect.
A resident inquired how the area got the name.
It is believed to be the name of the man who owned the property.
Trevorrow suggested having three or four names and then we would
choose from them.
Carlson suggested letting it simmer.
Carlson asked how deep the {argest pond is.
Anderson said currently about 3 feet but it could hold about 10 feet.
Carlson said if the pond is deep it may be a good idea to have a
bituminous path.
Anderson said he thinks the path #rom Bent Tree has to be asphalt.
8
Anderson-told the Park Board he would:like to go'through: this point by
point to .see if there is consensus.
Anderson said he recommends doing and asphalt trail all the way out
to 27th. From the gazebo to Black Oak Drive would be crushed rock -
6 feet wide. Put aerator/fountain in the pond. Change the angle of
the path to save as many trees as possible.
Anderson said he would leave these items where they are: gazebo,
parking lot, soccer field, basketball court. May drop the number of
parking spaces in the parking lot.
Trevorrow asked if the soccer field could be angled so a regulation
field could be put there.
Anderson said Bob from Engineering said he couldn't do it because of
the grading plan.
Olson asked about the tennis court.
Anderson said is not as opposed to it as he once was.. He thinks
there could be one. The people in the condos would also use it.
