Discussion of Property of Park Purposes Anderson said at the last meeting it was decided to bring this item back again in November. If the Park Board is interested in this property he suggests calling a meeting to let the residents in the area know we are considering this piece of property for park purposes and give them an opportunity to respond. If their response is favorable, send it on to the Council. 2 Anderson said the realtor told him the house has been taken off the market. This may be to the City's advantage. The realtor thinks we are the best option for the property. The asking price is $240,000. There is 2 1/2 - 3 acres with a house on the property. The house has been neglected. The property could be used for people stopping off from canoeing. Johnson asked how big Meadow Wood Park is. Anderson responded about 2 1/2 - 3 acres. Johnson said maybe the City could abate the taxes in exchange for the property. Kinzie thinks this should be pursued; it wouldn't hurt. Olson agreed and said it would also be nice for the bikers. Rose asked if it is property that will come off the tax role. Anderson said yes.
