June 5, 1991 Park Board Minutes
2
Anderson stated that's one of the reasons this was
being done. With possible budget cuts, also want
to use the Park Board as a sounding board.
Johnson said he didn't realize the number of
programs that were offered. He asked if there was
extra staff and subsidy.
Pat mentioned that the puppet wagon program which
was shared with Mounds View was eliminated because
the truck needed repairs and the costs to repair
and run the program were too costly to continue.
Johnson said it would be interesting to know the
participant per hour costs and how that figures
with the public and supervisor costs. This would
tell you which programs you could service a lot of
people for a small cost.
Gunderman asked if athletic association costs were
listed.
Anderson said they were not.
Pat said that the Elementary Track program was
forgotten from the report.
Carlson said he knows that there were a
significant number of kids involved in that
program.
Anderson said that is our best cooperative
program.
Gunderman said it would be nice to have a summary
statement with conclusions and also where we are
going and what are our projections.
Anderson stated there is not a program in the
report that is not well run.
Gunderman also commented that it would be nice to
credit the Kitchen Kut-Ups Kitchen Band, the Lions
and others who have donated time or money to the
department.
Gunderman said it was a good report.
