June 5, 1991 Park Board Minutes
Kelly Schultz, Program Supervisor for the Senior
Citizens programs discussed her report also. All
of the clubs and leagues are self-supporting,
except for mailings.
Anderson said a summary would be done and copies
would be distributed to the Council and Park
Board.
B. 1992 - 1996 CIP
Anderson said Creekview was reduced from $25,000
to $15,000 because the need for a bridge was
eliminated by the berm/dike.
Handicap and Veterans Parks - $20,000
Gunderman asked how many complaints were received
from residents about not having a handicap play
area.
Anderson responded none.
Gunderman questioned whether this should be done
with possible budget cuts coming.
Anderson said the surface is expensive. Don't
know if it will get used.
Anderson said he wants to take it to the Council
because the Human Rights Department has asked for
this. The Council will ultimately decide.
Olson asked when this would be installed.
Anderson said the Human Rights Commission asked
for it in 1992.
Gunderman said if it's done at one park, you'll
have to do it at all parks.
Olson said maybe not. Other parks are more
neighborhood parks.
3
Gunderman said he would like to see a survey done.
Ocel said she remembers that Hansen was going to
be the pilot park to see if there was an interest
and if it was well used.
