<br />I <br /> <br />,,, 'd, <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />March 25, 1986 <br /> <br />Council Business, continued <br /> <br />Benke asked Locke to put together a summary of the Water Ridge <br />project for Gunderman and Brandt to review; Schmidt stated the <br />summary should include Jim O'Meara's (O'Connor & Hannan, bond <br />counsel) information as well. <br /> <br />Locke stated a four-week period may be a more realistic for time <br />to sort out all of the issues and reach a conclusion. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Schmidt, to DIRECT STAFF TO PREPARE <br />A STATUS REPORT FOR THE APRIL 8, 1986, COUNCIL MEETING, THAT <br />DISCUSSIONS IN THE INTERIM INCLUDE HEDLUND WHERE AND WHEN NECES- <br />SARY, AND DEFERRING CONSIDERATION OF PRD-46 AND PL-144 UNTIL THE <br />APRIL 22, 1986, COUNCIL MEETING. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />With regard to an ordinance amendment which would permit farmers <br />markets in an R1, single family, zoning by special use permit, <br />Krueger distributed copies of changes in the proposed ordinance, <br />as suggested by LeFevere. <br /> <br />Brandt asked if there was any other area in New Brighton that <br />would be permitted to have a farmers market, under the proposed <br />ordinance; Krueger felt that the two churches on Rice Creek Road <br />and Silver Lake Road would qualify. <br /> <br />Brandt asked if the food vendor's license included all items <br />sold, whether or not they are consumed on the premises; Krueger <br />stated the license referred to in the proposed ordinance is a <br />license to sell the produce, noting there are no municipal <br />licenses required. <br /> <br />Gunderman asked if there were enough restrictions included so <br />that we do not end up with a flea market; Krueger stated the <br />proposal states that only agricultural products, such as vege- <br />tables, fruits, and flowers, would be permitted. <br /> <br />In response to Gunderman's question, Krueger indicated the <br />church would have to be a co-sponsor of the special use permit <br />and they have indicated that they are interested. <br /> <br />Gunderman asked if the proposed ordinance amendment was drawn up <br />because the church asked for it; Krueger stated the interest has <br />come from Raymond Nathe, who initiated the farmers market at St. <br />John's last fall. <br /> <br />Gunderman asked if the city had received any communication from <br />the church; Krueger stated she had talked with a priest there <br />last year, and he stated they were in favor of the farmers <br />market. <br /> <br />Page Eighteen <br /> <br />Ordinance Amendment - <br />First Reading - <br />Farmers Market <br />Report 86-76 <br />
