I

I

I

Council Meeting Minutes
February 25, 1986

Page Four

Council Business, continued

Brandt inquired if it could be determined if the areas dissatis-
fied with animal control, street patching/repair, and the side-
walk system were from a specific area(s); Jones stated that the
information was available but that an analysis had not yet been
done. Brandt indicated she would be interested in that analysis.

Schmidt stated that after the 1982 survey, a process was devel-
oped to take the results to various civic organizations within
the city, and the various boards and commissions; asked staff to
comment on what the process was, and asked if the information
would be made available at the Town Hall Meeting.

Berger indicated the information would be disseminated in the
next City Wide newsletter, in newspaper articles, and to the
various boards and commissions.

Benke recommended that the report be formally received at this
time and direct staff and the council liaisons to discuss the
survey at their next board or commission meeting, with particular
focus in their areas, and to review and react as necessary or
appropriate. Benke felt council should have an opportunity to
react to that input prior to broad publication.

Sinda reflected that the Citizen Study Committee and Berger are
to be commended for their good work on the survey, especially
Jones for helping to select the software and train Berger on its
use. Sinda added that questions can be tracked by geographical
areas, and noted that department heads are now concentrating on
THAT TASK.

Benke, on behalf of council, thanked the committee for their
efforts and looks forward to excellent work from the Committee.

The Mayor, with consent of council, RECEIVED THE CITIZEN SURVEY
REPORT FROM THE CITIZEN STUDY COMMITTEE AND REFERRED IT TO
STAFF, BOARDS, AND COMMISSIONS FOR A REPORT BACK TO COUNCIL.

Winkels reviewed staff report concerning site plan approval for
construction of a new industrial building for Printing Enterpri-
ses in which approval is requested for a building of slightly
more than 15,000 square feet.

Motion by Brandt, seconded by Gunderman, to APPROVE LP-196 SUB-
JECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:

1. APPROVAL OF RICE CREEK WATERSHED DISTRICT;
2. APPROVAL OF ALL GRADING AND DRAINAGE BY THE CITY ENGINEER;
3. SUBMISSION OF AN UP-DATED PROPERTY SURVEY SHOWING THE DEDI-
CATION OF 33 FEET OF RIGHT-OF-WAY ON 14TH STREET N.E; AND
4. CONFORMANCE WITH SITE, BUILDING, AND LANDSCAPE PLANS AS
SIGNED AND DATED BY THE APPLICANT AND THE CITY PLANNER.

5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried

Site Plan Approval -
LP-196
Report 86-43
