I

I

I

Council Meeting Minutes
February 11, 1986

Regarding the building setback, Gunderman asked about alterna-
tives and safety functions if the building were to be moved
closer to Silver Lake Road. Briggs noted they would have no
objection to building 5-10 feet closer to the street.

Benke asked Proper if he would have a problem if the site were
closer to Silver Lake Road; Proper didn't feel there would be a
probem, but felt we should have the right-of-way.

Benke asked about setbacks on Silver Lake Road; Winkles responded
that along Silver Lake Road the setback requirement is 30 feet,
and that a variance for less than 30 feet would require a new
application.

Briggs stated if council wishes a setback variance, they would
apply for one.

Brandt asked about moving the original configuration out five
feet; Briggs stated that would move the bUilding 70-75 feet from
the neighbors.

Benke asked about the ramifications of rotating the building 15-
20 ,degrees; Briggs stated it would increase the exposure of the
building to the neighbors.

Eva Jeppson asked about the dimensions of the redesigned plan;
Briggs noted the dimensions are the same.

Reverend Satre asked, if it became necessary to buy the entire
site from Atonement Lutheran Church, if the entire current con-
cept is premature; Briggs stated he would put a second office
building on the site of the church and perhaps share the parking
lot.

Satre stated the developer had no assurance they would be able
to purchase the property; Briggs felt it would be to the church's
advantage to sell to the developer because the developer would
present the best offer because of its interest in the property.

Page Ten
