<br />1 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />July 22, 1986 <br /> <br />Council Business, continued <br /> <br />Benke stated the parking the Commission reacted to has been <br />eliminated and also, based on Commission comments, additional <br />parking spaces have been provided along the north side of the <br />building. <br /> <br />Schmidt stated the proposal and the plans provided and the <br />conditions set forth would eliminate a number of the nonconform- <br />ities and asked about the floor area ratio (.4 versus the <br />proposed .34), stating there is a very little space available <br />for expansion in terms of the size of the building that was <br />there before, asked what the actual difference is of the proposed <br />building in terms of net expansion. <br /> <br />DeYoung stated net expansion would be about 10,000 square feet <br />with more growing area as opposed to wooden warehouse area. <br /> <br />Schmidt asked if there is any impediment in the future in terms <br />of meeting growth expansion needs with space that would be left <br />available; DeYoung stated Chenoweth has always grown to the area <br />given and stated perhaps there will be additional areas in New <br />Brighton for added expansion. <br /> <br />Williams asked if the Planning Commission would consider <br />slanting the angle of the parking stalls on the north side to <br />provide for easier backing out, not decreasing the number of <br />stalls; Krueger stated it was not a discussion item but it could <br />be considered. <br /> <br />Regarding Commissioner Livingston's concern about a temporary <br />garden center, Williams stated that is an outdoor activity; <br />Krueger noted that it is an outdoor activity for two to three <br />months and confirmed that Livingston did want that indoors. <br /> <br />Williams stated that after the three-month period, the space is <br />once again used for parking; Krueger confirmed. <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Schmidt, to WAIVE THE READING <br />AND ADOPT A RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND APPROVING <br />NC-76; and to APPROVE LP-201, SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDI- <br />TIONS: <br /> <br />1. APPROVAL OF GRADING AND DRAINAGE PLANS BY THE CITY <br />ENGINEER AND RICE CREEK WATERSHED DISTRICT; <br /> <br />2. CONFORMANCE WITH SITE AND LANDSCAPE PLANS AS SIGNED AND <br />DATED BY THE APPLICANT AND THE CITY PLANNER; AND <br /> <br />3.
