<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />May 13, 1986 <br /> <br />Gunderman indicated he would like to see consideration given to <br />a left turn lane at Rice Creek Road at Long Lake Road; Proper <br />indicated he would look into the matter. <br /> <br />Benke would like to see included in the project documentation and <br />specifications that the sidewalk construction have an early <br />completion date; Proper stated that Wayne Leonard indicated the <br />sidewalk by Irondale could be done and completed by this Fall, <br />and there will not be enough time to do anything further. Proper <br />stated Leonard will be at the hearing; we need to get the County <br />to commit to a schedule; Benke stated that both incentives and <br />disincentives need to be discussed with Leonard. <br /> <br />Benke directed receipt of staff's report and asked that any <br />interim reports be distributed to council. <br /> <br />Sinda had nothing to add to the staff report concerning a <br />comparable salary increase for non-union employees. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Williams, to AUTHORIZE A <br />ONE-HALF PERCENT INCREASE IN NON-UNION FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE SALARY <br />RANGES FOR 1986, RETROACTIVE TO JANUARY 1, 1986. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Berger had nothing further to add to the staff report concerning <br />the appointment of a consultant for the selection of furniture <br />for city hall. <br /> <br />Benke asked if staff was planning to survey existing furniture to <br />determine what can be re-used, refurbished, etc.; Berger <br />indicated that was the plan. <br /> <br />Sinda stated the consultant wi 11 recommend what we can buy so <br />that it all fits in together. <br /> <br />Williams stated a consultant was an excellent idea and moved, <br />seconded by Schmidt, to APPROVE THE HIRING OF JOY WINER, <br />SPACEPLAN CORPORATION, TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING SEVICES <br />FOR THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON IN THE SELECTION OF FURNITURE FOR <br />CITY HALL. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />With regard to a telephone system for city hall, Sinda indicated <br />he had talked to our city attorney who suggested we pay for the <br />system rather than go on a lease. <br /> <br />Williams asked if the purchase includes the fire station; Sinda <br />stated it does not, that the fire station would be included <br />later. <br /> <br />Page Twelve <br /> <br />1/2% Salary Increase <br />for Non-Union Full- <br />Time Employees <br />Report 86 -11 0 <br />Resolution 49-A <br /> <br />Furniture Consultant <br />Appointment <br /> <br />Telephone System <br />for City Ha 11 <br />
