He
suggested we look into the possibility of picking a name such as
"Terrace". or something similar. instead of "A" as is done in
other parts of the country and amending the current resolution
accordingly. The post office has stated that the A Street
designation has caused some problems.

Blomquist questioned if this would be a problem with the fire
department.

Harcus stated it would help the fire department because it would be
a consistent pattern.

Blomquist felt it was an excellent suggestion and that it should be
referred to the Citizen Study Committee as suggested by the staff
report.

Motion by Harcus. seconded by Blomquist. to REFER THE REQUEST FOR
RENAMING 14A STREET NW TO THE CITIZEN STUDY COMMITTEE FOR STUDY AND
RECOMMENDTION. INCLUDIrJG A RECOMt<1ENDATION ON ALL "A II DESIGNATED
STREETS IN GENERAL. TO CONSIDER A NAMING CONVENTION AND TO INVITE "A"
STREET RESIDENTS TO THE DISCUSSIONS.

~enke stated that the problem with buildings #3 and #4 is they are locat-
ed on a large driveway off a public street. Looking at this particular
case, one could almost argue four different ways that maybe they should
all be 14th Street addresses. There isn't really a street there. and
there are other developments that have a similar driveway with more build-
ings. This is a case that should be looked at in more detail by the
Citizen Study Committee. A clarification should be made when a driveway
is a street and should have its own name.

Harcus noted that the addresses for building #3 and #4 are in the
2300 series.

Benke questioned who assigns the numbers.

Ron Nienaber. Building Official, stated that he does the assignir.g of
street addresses.

Harcus concurred with Benke that he felt it was a driveway off of
14th Street.

4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried
