Council Meeting Minutes July 23, 1985 I Motion by Harcus, seconded by Blomquist, to WAIVE THE READING AND ADOPT A RESOLUTION ORDERING THE INSTALLATION OF A NEW STREET LIGHT ON THE END OF FOXWOOD COURT. 5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried Sinda had nothing to add to the report concerning a petition from residents requesting "No Parking" signs along Cleveland Avenue. Harcus asked staff to take a look at the property/apartment owners to determine whether or not there is a shortage of parking. Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist, to RECEIVE THE PETITION FROM RESIDENTS OF CLEVELAND AVENUE AND SUBMIT IT TO STAFF (POLICE DEPARTMENT AND ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT) FOR STUDY, REQUESTING A RECOMMENDATION ON AUGUST 27, 1985. I 5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried Bob Pierce, Lindberg Pierce, Inc.,.architect for the City Hall renovation/addition reviewed the original plans and addressed the Building Committee's questions and concerns. Dick Gilyard, Lindberg Pierce. Inc.. reviewed the revised plans. Lindberg stated he would have further drawings available at the next council meeting on August 13. 1985. In response to Blomquist's question, Pierce stated they antici- pate completion of the drawings the first week in September, with Council approval and the ordering of bids in September. and groundbreaking in mid-October. Sinda stated the Park Board would be holding a special meeting on July 29, the council will review on August 13. and will go to Planning Commission on August 20. with final review by council on September 10th. After a discussion of the placement of seating for the council and the elevation of the chamber floor, it was decided that a level floor would be best with a raised platform for the council. and council concurred it would be best to having seating for nine, but Benke asked to look at seven plus a staff table to see what the options are. Pierce stated they are making accommodations for cable television. Benke also expressed a need for audio-visual equipment being con- sidered and Harcus asked for conduits throughout the building. I Damon Farber, Damon Farber and Associates. reviewed the exterior plans. stating he had worked with the Park Board and had taken their concerns into account, and noted he is taking soil problems into consideration also.
