<br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />July 23, 1985 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Blomquist, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />ADOPT A RESOLUTION ORDERING THE INSTALLATION OF A NEW STREET LIGHT <br />ON THE END OF FOXWOOD COURT. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Sinda had nothing to add to the report concerning a petition <br />from residents requesting "No Parking" signs along Cleveland <br />Avenue. <br /> <br />Harcus asked staff to take a look at the property/apartment owners <br />to determine whether or not there is a shortage of parking. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist, to RECEIVE THE PETITION <br />FROM RESIDENTS OF CLEVELAND AVENUE AND SUBMIT IT TO STAFF (POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT AND ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT) FOR STUDY, REQUESTING A <br />RECOMMENDATION ON AUGUST 27, 1985. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Bob Pierce, Lindberg Pierce, Inc.,.architect for the City Hall <br />renovation/addition reviewed the original plans and addressed <br />the Building Committee's questions and concerns. Dick Gilyard, <br />Lindberg Pierce. Inc.. reviewed the revised plans. Lindberg <br />stated he would have further drawings available at the next <br />council meeting on August 13. 1985. <br /> <br />In response to Blomquist's question, Pierce stated they antici- <br />pate completion of the drawings the first week in September, <br />with Council approval and the ordering of bids in September. <br />and groundbreaking in mid-October. <br /> <br />Sinda stated the Park Board would be holding a special meeting <br />on July 29, the council will review on August 13. and will go <br />to Planning Commission on August 20. with final review by <br />council on September 10th. <br /> <br />After a discussion of the placement of seating for the council <br />and the elevation of the chamber floor, it was decided that a <br />level floor would be best with a raised platform for the council. <br />and council concurred it would be best to having seating for nine, <br />but Benke asked to look at seven plus a staff table to see what <br />the options are. <br /> <br />Pierce stated they are making accommodations for cable television. <br />Benke also expressed a need for audio-visual equipment being con- <br />sidered and Harcus asked for conduits throughout the building. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Damon Farber, Damon Farber and Associates. reviewed the exterior <br />plans. stating he had worked with the Park Board and had taken <br />their concerns into account, and noted he is taking soil problems <br />into consideration also.
