<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br />September 25, 1984 <br /> <br />Benke added that the problem with trucks on E-2 and Fifth <br />Avenue is one part of a larger problem, and that council <br />1S trying to solve the petitioners problem at the same <br />time as the larger problem. <br /> <br />Harcus stated the petitioners would be notified when the <br />staff reports were available. <br /> <br />Jim May, 447 Sixth Street NW, suggested having the police <br />monitor the traffic in the morninq (5:30-6:30 a.m.) and <br />late in the evening, thereby saving $10,000. <br /> <br />Harcus stated we would not wait until the study was done <br />to look at their immediate problems, and suggested having <br />the police look into the speedinq situation. <br /> <br />Christie May, 447 Sixth Street NW, stated the truck traffic <br />problem has tripled or quadrupled in the last three years, <br />felt monitoring would give council a good idea of just how <br />bad it is, and suggested a few stop signs on Fifth Street <br />to slow down the traffic. <br /> <br />Harcus mentioned that the $10,000 study would apply to <br />future development, not just becuase of the problem the <br />petitioners have brought to our attention; study will show <br />what can be done to minimize impact of traffic in future <br />developments. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Amendment carried <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Main Motion carried as amended <br /> <br />Krueger reviewed staff report concerning a request for a <br />non-conforming use permit and site plan approval to con- <br />struct two additional buildings on a site with a Type IV <br />non-conformity. Krueger stated it was not practical to <br />install concrete curbing because of the soil conditions; <br />applicant agreed that all conditions can be met; Chuck <br />Nolan, representative of E-Z Mini Storage Company, is <br />present to answer any questions council may have. <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janecek, to WAIVE THE <br />READING AND ADOPT A RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT AND <br />APPROVING NC-64 AND TO APPROVE LP-167 SUBJECT TO THE <br />FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: <br /> <br />1. THAT THREE (3) NO PARKING SIGNS BE POSTED AT THE <br />SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE SITE NEAR THE EXISTING FIRE <br />HYDRANT. <br />2. THAT THE DRIVEWAY WIDTH IN FRONT OF THE OFFICE BE <br />INCREASED TO 30 FEET. <br />3. THAT THE GRASS BE CUT AND MAINTAINED ALONG COUNTY <br />ROAD E-2 TO A DEPTH OF 60 FEET FROM THE CURB.
