<br />Council Minutes <br />December 17, 1984 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Benke stated it would seem our best employees would never be <br />paid above average; suggested it be looked at in the future <br />so that the City could retain these better people, suggesting <br />perhaps at Step 6 at 105% of mean. <br /> <br />Schmidt felt the need to keep everything in perspective, noting <br />that just because someone has been with the City and shows up <br />for work wouldn't mean that employee would automatically get a <br />five percent increase. <br /> <br />Sinda responded that after a performance evaluation, there are <br />some employees that will not be getting an increase. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Sinda asked that this item be deferred. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist, to DEFER ACTION ON THE <br />COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT WITH LOCAL NO. 17 OF THE HOTEL <br />EMPLOYEES AND RESTAURANT EMPLOYEES UNION FOR BRANDYWINE/PALME <br />DRIVE TO THE NEXT REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON JANUARY 8, <br />1985. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Janecek, to APPROVE THE PROPOSED <br />CHANGE IN THE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT RELATING TO MAINTENANCE <br />AND OPERATION OF LONG LAKE REGIONAL PARK AND AUTHORIZE MAYOR <br />AND MANAGER TO SIGN THE AMENDMENT. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Proper had nothing to add to the staff report. <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Schmidt, to REFER THE PROPOSED <br />MAC GILLIS & GIBBS' SUPERFUND PROJECT TO THE NEW BRIGHTON <br />ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY COMMISSION FOR REVIEW AND COMMENT. <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Schmidt, to AMEND THE MOTION <br />TO AUTHORIZE STAFF TO PAY FOR OUTSIDE EXPERT ADVISE ON THIS <br />MATTER. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Schmidt asked Proper to ask Barr Engineering Co. to come out <br />to give presentation to the Environmental Quality Commission <br />and asked if the information could be provided to Barr before <br />the next Commission meeting on January 9, 1985.
