<br />Council Mi nutes <br />March 12, 1985 <br /> <br />Page Four <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Harcus asked staff to put together something indicating <br />the benefits to thectty. <br /> <br />Proper stated he would get available information to the <br />Mayor; noted a benefit would be having information <br />on a common data base (utilities, telephone, electric, <br />platting of property, evaluations, taxes, etc.) in the <br />computer. The output could be on any scale, any size. <br /> <br />Harcus asked who would be putting the information into <br />the computer. Proper indicated that had not yet been <br />determined. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Benke asked if this mapping system would be compatible <br />with the data base and mapping systems available through <br />the state planning agencies and Metropolitan Council <br />(census, soil, land-use). <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Benke, to AUTHORIZE STAFF <br />TO SEND A LETTER TO RAMSEY COUNTY STATING THAT THE CITY <br />OF NEW BRIGHTON IS INTERESTED IN THEIR COMPUTERIZED MAPPING <br />PROPOSAL AND WOULD LIKE FURTHER INFORHATION REGARDING THE <br />COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH IMPLEMENTING THE SYSTEM AND IUFORMA- <br />TION REGARDING THE SYSTEM'S COt1PATIB ILITY ~HTH OTHER STATE <br />AND REGIONAL DATA BASES. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Sinda had nothing to add to the report. Council assigned <br />the fo 11 owi ng : <br /> <br />1. City Wide Development/Star City Proqram (Blomquist) <br />2. Water Quality (Janecek) <br />3. City Fi nances/Li quor Report (Harcus) <br />4. Goals and Mission Statement (Benke) <br />5. Cable Television (Schmidt) <br /> <br />Sinda had nothing further to add to the report. <br /> <br />Town Hall Meeting <br />Report 85-66 <br /> <br />Harcus inquired about the Local Government Aid status. <br />Sinda responded that a few groups were moving in different <br />directions. <br /> <br />1985 Legislative <br />Work Program <br />Report 85-67 <br /> <br />Schmidt stated the program looked good, sees no reason for <br />any change. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Benke asked for updates that would benefit the City of New <br />Brighton while he is attending tne National League of Cities <br />conference in Washington D.C., March 23-26, 1985. Sinda <br />suggested a meeting with Benke and John Drawz, city attorney's <br />office. <br />
