<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br />August 28, 1984 <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist. seconded by Janecek, to WAIVE THE READING <br />AND ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING PRELIMINARY PL-138 SUBJECT TO <br />CONDITIONS. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Blomquist, TO WAIVE THE READING <br />AND ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING PRELIMINARY PRD-40 SUBJECT TO <br />CONDITIONS. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Schmidt, to DIRECT THE PLANNING <br />COMMISSION TO HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER A COMPREHENSIVE <br />PLAN AMENDMENT TO REZONE CERTAIN PROPERTY IN NEW BRIGHTON FROM <br />R-l, SINGLE FAMILY, TO R-3B, MULTIPLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes. Motion Carried <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Blomquist, to CONTINUE CONSIDERA- <br />TION OF LP-160 AND LP-161 UNTIL FINAL PLAT AND FINAL PRD APPROVAL. <br />(The site plans which have been submitted at this time are pre- <br />liminary and not sufficient for final approval. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Winkels updated council on what needs to be done. <br /> <br />Harcus would like a letter sent out explaining what was done; <br />Winkels will send letter telling what the next steps are, who <br />residents will be working with on the relocation. <br /> <br />Benke addressed the freeway traffic diverting through downtown; <br />believes we should consider doing our own traffic study of the <br />southwest quadrant of the two freeways when reviewing the Compre- <br />hensive Plan, as we would have freeway problems the traffic <br />could impact us. <br /> <br />Schmidt thanked the audience for expressing their opinions, both <br />pro and con. <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Bob Pierce, Lindberg Pierce, Inc., updated council on the revised <br />plans for a remodeled city hall. <br /> <br />Harcus expressed concern of large amount of open space on the <br />upper level, and expected to see more clustered reception areas. <br /> <br />Dick Gilyard, Lindberg Pierce, Inc., explained the philosophy <br />behind the scheme. <br /> <br />Benke supports Fifth Avenue concept; believes some internal <br />changes may be needed.
