<br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />October 25, 1983 <br />Page Three <br /> <br />Mayor Harcus agreed that the addition was beautiful but <br />that the Fire Department and Police Department would <br />have to be consulted as they would have to live with <br />the decision whEn making calls. <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke stated he was in sympathy with <br />the petitioners and questioned whether the option <br />of changing the name all the way back to Silver Lake <br />Road had been explored. <br /> <br />Gene Skiba, a resident on 14th St. stated any change <br />of name affecting the area west of 29th was okay <br />with him, but he did not wish to change any of his <br />records, etc. <br /> <br />Diane Harstad stated that 100% of the people signing <br />the petition were present and that she did not see <br />why the Fire Department or Police Department would <br />have a problem with the renaming. <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Blomquist to receive the <br />petition and refer it to staff and the Police and Fire <br />Departments for review and recommendations to be consider- <br />ed at the next Council Meeting. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The Director of Community Development stated <br />there was nothing to add to the staff report. <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Harcus to <br />waive the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION AUTHOR- <br />IZING THE ISSUANCE OF A $942,000 PRINCIPAL AMOUNT <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON, MINNESOTA, COMMERCIAL DEVEL- <br />OPMENT REVENUE NOTE (SAHARA INVESTMENT CO. PROJECT) <br />(FIRST STATE BANK OF NEW BRIGHTON, LESSEE), DATED <br />AS OF NOVEMBER, 1983, AND APPROVING THE FORM AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF NECESSARY DOCUMENTS. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation Department had nothing <br />to add to the staff report ~egarding the use <br />of a donation from Basic Industries for a <br />pitching machine. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Schmidt to approve <br />the use of the Basic Industries donation for the <br />purchase of a Casey II Pitching Machine in the <br />amount of $681.10 plus $35.00 shipping from At Bat. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Final Resolution <br />for IRB Applica- <br />tion for Sahara <br />Invest.
