I

I

I

Council Minutes
February 14, 1984

Harcus mentioned that apparently the people living on the
street are willing to take the risk with regard to emer-
gency vehicles, but doesn't see the people living there
for twenty years having to have a name change.

Janecek questioned exactly where the name change would
take place with regard to the vacant lots and the bend in
the street.

C. Ray McCulloch stated that lots south of the two existing
houses are in Innsbruck North 3rd Addition, west of the
two existing houses are two new houses that would not be a
part of the name change.

Benke questioned the property line as a division. Al
Bauer, Fire Chief, thinks that we can do a little better
job with street addresses than have one house on 14th
Street and the next house on Brookshire.

Benke questioned house numbering system if the name is
changed.

Jim Winkels stated the numbers would change so that there
would be no confusion on the part of emergency vehicles.

Benke commented, in response to Mr. Thompson's comment on
wealthy developers, that the New Brighton Council has
openmindedly considered any petition from anyone or any
group and has given them that consideration.

Thompson suggested changing the name of the cu1 de sac
to 14th Court and leave the rest of the street the way
it is, as there ;s no valid reason for changing.t~e name
of 14th Street other than the fact that the petltloners
don't think itls fancy enough.

Motion by Janecek, seconded by Harcus, to DENY THE PETITION
FOR THE NAME CHANGE OF 14th STREET BUT TO CHANGE INNSBRUCK
COURT TO 14th COURT.

3 ~~S - 2 Nayes (Blomquist, Schmidt) Motion Carried

Page Six
