<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />July 12, 1983 <br />Page Four <br /> <br />The City Engineer reviewed the staff report regarding <br />the city participation in a new leaf composting site. <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Blomquist to <br />authorize the use of City manpower and equipment <br />to help prepare the new composting site in Arden <br />Hills subject to having the New Brighton garbage <br />haulers taking the leaves to the new site. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The City Engineer reviewed the staff report <br />regarding specification for drilling of new <br />city well #12, project #83-13. <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Schmidt to approve <br />the specifications for new City Well #12, Project <br />#83-13 and authorize the advertisement for bids, <br />bids to be opened August 5, 1983 and considered <br />by Council August 16,1983. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The City Engineer reviewed the staff report regarding <br />the preliminary layout for a new Co. Rd. "D" <br />bridge over 35W. <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Blomquist to <br />adopt a RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PRELIMINARY <br />PLAN (LAYOUT #1) FOR THE COUNTY RD. D BRIDGE <br />WIDENING OVER I-35W. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes - 1 Abstention (Benke) - motion <br />carried (Abstained from voting on grounds that <br />applicant is councilmember's employer.) <br /> <br />The City Engineer reviewed the staff report <br />regarding traffic control devices; no parking <br />signs Cleveland Avenue near Co. Rd. E, and <br />3-way stop signs at 8th Ave. and 7th St. N.W. <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke asked if the phone calls <br />regarding the stop signs were from people that <br />lived in the area or people driving through. <br /> <br />The City Engineer responded that the calls <br />were from people driving through the area. <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke questioned whether the use <br />the the school site as a church would increase <br />the amount of pedestrian traffic to the point <br />where the stop sign would be necessary. <br /> <br />New Leaf Compost. <br />Site - Report# <br />83-183 <br /> <br />Approval of <br />Specifications <br />for New City Well <br />#12, Project # <br />83-13, Report#83- <br />184 <br /> <br />Co.
