<br />1 <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />October II, 1983 <br />Page Three <br /> <br />The City Engineer reviewed the staff report <br />regarding the adoption of a resolution <br />submitting input for the Ramsey County <br />Five-Year Capital Improvement Program. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schmidt pointed out that some- <br />thing should be stated in the report regarding <br />the drainage problems on Long Lake Road between <br />16th and 14th. <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Janecek to waive <br />the reading and adopt a P~SOLUTION SUBMITTING INPUT <br />FOR UPDATING THE RAMSEY COUNTY 1984-1988 FIVE-YEAR <br />CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The City Manaqer reviewed the staff report regard- <br />ing aa ondinance authorizing a change in hours <br />for operation of the municipal liquor stores. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke stated it should be considered <br />whether or not there would be a need for policy <br />guidelines regarding discretionary closing hours. <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janecek to waive <br />the reading and hold the first reading of an <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 4 OF THE NEW BRIGHTON <br />CITY CODE WHICH CHANGES THE HOURS OF OPERATION FOR <br />THE MUNICIPAL LIQUOR STORES. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The City Engineer had nothing to add to the staff <br />report regarding a street Closing Ordinance. <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Janecek to waive <br />the reading, hold the second reading, adopt <br />and order publication of an ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 29, ARTICLE I OF THE NEW BRIGHTON CITY <br />CODE BY ADDITION OF SECTION 29-7 RELATING TO <br />LIMITED TRAVEL ON POSTED STREETS. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />The city Manager, for information purposes, <br />stated the Planning corrunission made the <br />recommendation that the Council direct staff <br />to ~ernove the banner on the fire station, as <br />they felt it was political in nature and incon- <br />sit3tent vlith Sectio:1. 9-030 (a) (6) of the New <br />Brighton Code.
