<br />F. Labor Day, the first Monday in September. <br />G. Veterans Day, November 11. <br />H. Thanksgiving Day, the fourth Thursday in November. <br />I. The day following Thanksgiving Day. <br />J. The afternoon prior to Christmas Day (half day). <br />K. Christmas Day, December 25. <br />L. Floating Holidays (1 12 day non union). <br /> <br />(2) Whenever any of these holidays falls on a Saturday, the preceding day shall be observed as a <br />holiday. Whenever any of these holidays falls on a Sunday, the following day shall be observed <br />as a holiday. <br /> <br />(3) At the discretion of the City Manager, employees who are required to be on duty on a holiday <br />shall be given either the following day as a holiday, or given an additional day of vacation leave. <br /> <br />I: (4) The holiday schedule specified in this Section shall be based on an eight hour day. <br /> <br />(5) If an employee is on paid leave, then the employee receives the paid holiday instead of using <br />accrued leave for that day. <br /> <br />(6) Regular part-time employees shall receive holiday pay ifthe holiday falls within their regular <br />schedule. If a regular part-time employee works on a City approved holiday, then they will be <br />paid regular wages for the hours worked and receive 4 hours floating holiday time. <br /> <br />(7) Floating Holidays (Effective 1/1/04). On January 1, employees are provided 1 12 floating <br />holiday days. This is separately accrued from vacation and sick leave. Employees can use their <br />1 12 floating holidays with prior approval from their supervisor. Floating holidays do not carry <br />over to the next year and therefore, must be used by December 31. <br /> <br />Sec. 21-55. Group Insurance Plan. <br /> <br />Group health and life insurance plans may be provided for eligible City employees and their <br />dependents in accordance with the provisions ofthis Section. <br /> <br />(1) The total monthly premium for participating employees shall be paid in accordance with the <br />provisions of the pay plan resolution. <br /> <br />(2) The date of eligibility for group health and life insurance shall coincide with the coverage <br />provided by the City. <br /> <br />(3) An employee may elect to continue group health and life insurance coverage while on leave <br />of absence without pay. The entire cost ofthe continued insurance shall be paid by the employee <br />in advance of the date that payment is due to the insurance carrier. <br /> <br />(4) An employee may continue any individual or dependent health insurance coverage for a time <br />set by Minnesota Statutes. The terminating employee shall pay the entire cost of the insurance <br />: i continuation. <br /> <br />21-14 <br />
