I <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />(e) Accrual <br /> <br /> <br />(1) Rate of Accrual: <br /> <br />Sick leave shall be accrued by all regular and proba- <br />t ionary employees a t the ra te of eigh t hours for each <br />calendar month of full time service. <br /> <br />(2) Maximum Accrual: <br /> <br />Employees using sick leave shall be considered to be <br />working for the purpose of accumulating additional vaca- <br />tion or sick leave. Only days which an employee would <br />normally have worked shall be charged against his sick <br />leave account. <br /> <br />Sick leave may be accumulated to a maximum of one hun- <br />dred twenty (120) days. Employees who have accumulated <br />the maximum one hundred twenty (120) days sick leave <br />shall be permitted to accrue additional "bank" sick <br />leave at the rate of one day per month. Bank sick leave <br />may be used only after regular sick leave has been ex- <br />hausted and only for personal illness or disability. <br /> <br />Section 21-68. Injury on Duty <br /> <br />" <br />, <br />;! <br />~ ~ <br />ii, <br />I' <br /> <br />, , <br />, <br /> <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />The purpose of injured on duty benefits is to provide for the <br />continuation of an employee's wage when the employee is <br />unable to work owing to a work-related injury. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />An employee shall be eligible for these benefits only if the <br />injury qualifies for workers' compensation insurance. <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />The injured on-duty benefits shall be used to supplement the <br />amount of workers' compensation insurance which the employee <br />receives. The total of workers' compensation insurance plus <br />injured on-duty benefits shall be calculated so that the <br />employee receives their normal net pay before injury. Normal <br />net pay shall be determined without considering overtime pay. <br />Also, the employee shall not be allowed to change income tax <br />exemptions so as to affect the determination of the normal <br />net pay amount. <br /> <br />(e) The supplement to workers' compensation insurance shall be <br />known as the city share. <br /> <br />(f) The city share shall be provided In accordance with this sub- <br />section. <br /> <br />-15- <br />
