<br />(b) position Classification Plan <br /> <br /> <br />(1) There shall be established a position classification <br />plan for all positions covered by the provisions of this <br />chapter, except that temporary positions are not re- <br />quired to be included. All positions shall be grouped <br />in classes having a definite range of difficulty and <br />responsibility. Each class shall specify examples of <br />work which are illustrative of duties of positions <br />allocated to the class, requirements as to knowledge, <br />abilities and skills necessary for performance of the <br />work and a statement of experience and training desir- <br />able for recruitment into the classification. Minimum <br />requirements may be added for any position. <br /> <br />I <br />(2) when a new position is created for which no appropriatel <br />class exists or when an existing position is SUfficient-'I' <br />ly changed so that no appropriate class exists, the City <br />Manager shall create a new class and shall cause an <br />appropriate class specification to be written for said <br />class. <br /> <br /> <br />(3) As often as necessary to assure continued correct clas-! <br />sification, the position classification plan shall be! <br />reviewed by the City Manager and necessary adjustments <br />shall be made. <br />I <br />Any additions, deletions, or other changes in the posi-I' <br />ticn classification plan shall be submitted to the City <br />Manager for approval. Council approval shall be <br />required for changes in the position of the City Manager <br />and department heads. . <br /> <br />The position classification plan shall be filed Withl <br />the City Manager. The employment of other close <br />relatives is discouraged. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />Employees employed prior to ''iiH,:h 10, 1981, who are presently I <br />working in the same department from the same family, will be I <br />exempted from this policy.
